Questions regarding the "pink weenie"

I see a lot of photos of fish here with a pink weenie in their mouth.

Is that a below-the-surface "fly"? Do you do a dropper rig with it? Do you weight it any? How far below the surface?

I will arrive in TN next week and look to spend a lot of time with my son fishing.

I have a trip planned with David Knapp, but that isn't until the following week.

Thanks for the insight!

Yes it is a nymph that I usually use under a neversink dry:biggrin:

The ones I typically fish in the Summer are unweighted. They don't mess with your drift much although I will wrap some lead earlier in the year or when I use it under an indicator. Also have a weighted with lead wrap and a huge cone head for really early and late when you bored and just need to go fishing even when conditions tell you to stay home.

I think your supposed to hire the guide then use them as a resource to plan the rest of your trip when fishing by yourself, not vice versa:rolleyes:

Personally, I like mine with a gold tungsten bead, but I tend to fish bigger water most of the time. When I'm on the smaller streams I tend to lean toward unweighted
