Citico Creek

I am planning on going to Citico Creek late this month. *Can someone please give me some tips and best places to camp. *I am looking to go up higher to fish for more natives and avoid the stockers. *What is the suggested paterns for this time of year in Citico? *I have always fished the park and never in the Monroe County area. *Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have fished Citico several times over the years. I would suggest camping at Indian Boundary Campground, just off the Skyway. I am not sure if it is open, yet, so be sure to check before you go. Any fly that you would normally use in the park will work here. You may want to fish downstream a ways due to the water being warmer down there this time of year.

Chris, the Boundary doesn't open until the20th of April, and you need to know that it is by reservation only, the overflow no reservation needed here, is open year round. You will need to bring potable water with you as the turn the well off and drain the water lines to keep them from freezing.
happy fishing,

Hi!

Like previous poster said. High up on Citico would be cold. I wouldn't pursue the wild section of North and South Fork of Citico until at least late March. The stocked section would be okay earlier. I think the season for a permit starts March 15 on the stocked section. but check with the regulations before you go.

Thanks for the snow pics dblhaul! You guys probably needed Hazel Creek Push Carts to get through that blizzard! You truly are a Psycho Fisher dude. I wish we had been able to hit Tellico back before my schedule changed. Hassellhoff Rules! (sorry we hijacked this thread)
