That looks like what most people round here refer to as a Yellow Drake dun. Curious to know where the specimen from your wonderful pics came from? My father-in-law has a pond in Blount Co. that produces these same looking bugs...something like an extended body sz 8 type dry fly would be needed to imitate them! I'll bet they came off just before dark right?

I did catch the fly in the late afternoon just before dark....And it was in Blount county the one in Alabama....

Thanks for the information sounds like the book "Trout Stream Insects an Orvis streamside guide" would be a good addition to my collection.
