South Holston
I'm going to be taking my first trip up to the SoHo this weekend and I have a few questions.

>What are the best access points for wading?

>What kind of bugs and flies am I looking at?

>Anything else I need to know?

Thanks in advance

Re: South Holston
I will be calling your partner. I am going to try to hook up with you boys!
I haven't fished it in a while but I will find out tonight and let you guys know before you head out. I have been to busy chasing the smallies while the water was clear.Looks like that will end tonight >:( Sooo back to the tailwaters ;) I will give you or Elkie a shout Thursday or so. :)

Re: South Holston
Well theres really only one public access point for wading and thats Emmit Bridge. There are a few road spots along Big Springs Rd but I havent been down that way since last winter. You can throw beetles, ants, and hoppers. But the sulphurs are still coming off. Ive take fish on dries, nymphs and emergers this summer. Couple guides say that streamers have been workin well in higher water. Watch the releases. Wear good sunscreen 8-), for some reason the sun has been bad there this year (I wear SPF 70!) Oh and if you need anything while you're up our way, stop by VA Creeper Fly Shop. Enjoy!

Re: South Holston
I fish SoHo a lot.. you can go all the way up to the wiers and fish off of them--I usually always catch something there... although on the weekends it gets packed. you can walk down river from there a long ways too or fish back behind the wiers in the still water.

you can also go off big springs as someone else mentioned, there are _huge_ fish on big springs but i've never had much luck there.. really picky fish.

Eddies fly shop is on your way if you go through johnson city to get there they're excellent.

flies.. when the sulphurs are coming off the CDC comparidun is awesome (size 16 i think is what i normally use)
I caught a ~20 in brown on a cdc at the wiers a couple weeks ago.

good luck!
