Washington steelhead
I went to southwest Washington state over Christmas for a week, to do some fishing and see some family. It rained or snowed for 6 of the 7 days I was there, which in turn created very high and muddy water in the rivers (most rivers were unfishable) >:(. Oh well, at least I got to wet my line! I will just have to catch a few this summer ;). So sorry no pictures of any fish (although to catch one you probably would have had to snag one)!

Re: Washington steelhead

What water did you fish? I grew up in Longview, WA, fishing the Kalama, Cowlitz and other smaller rivers and creeks near there. One of the first memories I have involving the SW WA fishery is planting steelhead in the South Fork of the Toutle with the local Sportsmans Club 2-3 years after the eruption. It was that trip that eventually got me into fly fishing and tying flies.

I've been in TN for 12 years now, but it is always good to get a fishing report from back there.

Re: Washington steelhead
I fished the Cowlitz. The Kalama and the Toutle (and every other river >:() were too high and muddy to fish this past trip. I live in AL now, but lived in Centralia, WA for a couple of years. I love fly fishing for steelies in the Kalama and smaller rivers, however the larger rivers such as the Cowlitz fly fishing is not quite as productive as using a spinning rod. Thanks for helping the fish population after Mt. St. Helens erupted. I am headed back out there this summer for another fishing trip, grab your rod and come along! :)
