Blue quills are here!
 

I was over on the NC side of the park saturday, and the blue quills were hatching in good numbers. however, the trout were not rising to them. soon....

Here, indeed!
 

A couple at church this morning said they walked up the trail past Elkmont yesterday and saw several hatches.

What are they waiting for?!

At least you guys have got something going down there. We are still a long ways off up here. However, the forecast is for 50F tomorrow and I am seriously thinking about a day trip. I was sifting through my fly boxes today and I need a fix big time.

Here's to hoping that they start looking up for you soon. If not just strip a streamer through there and hook them anyway.

Ted talked to some customers yesterday who were fishing at Elkmont. They encountered a Quill Gordon hatch and trout were rising. They told Ted they were taking Quill Gordon patterns and Parachute Adams.

This is killing me! I'm in D.C. for the week and happened to stop by the hotel's business center to catch up on the fishing news. All this happening and I'm 500 miles away! Of course, I'll be back in town for the weekend just in time for everything to cool off again.

Just have to keep reminding myself - many months of fishing to go.:redface:
