You called it. 8ft. 6' in. 5wt. Helios mid flex with an orvis battenkill 3 reel along with some sharkskin. Best thing that's ever happened to me besides my wife and work of course.

Nice report Speckleman. That's one of my favorite areas. I get kinda jealous of the NC side sometimes with the whole fontana area but I just go to Elkmont and all that leaves my mind.

You've got to work on excuses. It's never the fisherman's fault. It's always moon phases, temperature, water level, time of day, wind velocity, el nino, la nina, or something along those lines...
