I don't think it is the pale yellow.
It is more like the old Wapsi Yellow Stonefly, before they called their dry fly dubbing "superfine". I'd bet Hareline has a similar color.

Lynn, on the sparsely tied flies, what sort of hackle are you using? I've got capes that with only 3 turns, you don't end up with much more floatation than a bead head nymph gets. :redface:

All my 4x & 5x leaders eventually become streamer leaders after they've been bastardized to the point they can no longer be tied to a piece of 6x or 7x tippet.
