Re: ripped off on the clinch

Is that XP a 4 or 5 wt and did you have the serial number logged somewhere? I will keep an eye out as well, though the rod will probably be paired with some other reel so as not to be easily...

Re: Smokies Report

Plateau,
Do you live in Crossville? That was some nice Rainbow. I fish the big flies mostly in the park, never have fished a midge. I just hate the thought of it! The water is so clear though, and...

Re: Seeking Information - Abrams Creek

The big Horseshoe is an all day affair by itself, in my experience. The little one about half a day. Many people have spent the night in there, so don't fool around alot on the big horseshoe. Nice...

Here is an attempt at a few pics of the Might Mo Salmon, you can tell that it was getting late for these fish, no chrome to be seen. Still they were fierce!...

Re: GREAT LAKES

I have fished the Muskegon twice, so naturally I am an authority! The first time we went was in 2003 and we hit it right on the head as far as the weather and the Kings. We fished the first day and...

Re: Rainbow and Steelhead

Check out the Snowbird Creek listing on the Troutfishing in other States section, page 2. I would like to see someone else waving a fly rod over there in the winter.

Re: SNOWBIRD CREEK INFO

Patrick,
I was over last weekend, didn't tear them up but caught a few small wild rainbows, the water was a little low. Some rain would help. The creek is getting ready to be real good and you may...

Re: becoming a real good fishery

We have nothing but hypotheses regarding what caused the iceage(s) or the warm period which gave rise to the dinosaurs, a period which seems to have lasted ~ 150 million years minimum. How long has...

Re: becoming a real good fishery

We may have a little proof of global warming in 10 years. Sure looked like global warming last week across the country.

Re: Nantahala in October

Bill,
You will be about 30 minutes from Snowbird in Robbinsville, you might want to check it out one day. Are you planning on fishing the DH section of the Nan or the big river?

Re: Metcalf Bottoms, Sat. 23 Sep

I was on the other side of the mountains Saturday and the water was high and a little off color. Little River probably was not off color but the fish (I bet) were hunkered down waiting for the raging...

I think alot of us are drawn to trout fishing because it is a good excuse to be out in the beauty of nature (particularly these mountains). And there are so many ways to expand and hone this...

Re: Snowbird Creek and Neighboring Creeks

Just fishing,
Sorry I did not note that the distance from Blue Ridge, Ga(?) is about two hours. You are just south of Franklin aren't you? Franklin is 1.5 hours easy.

Re: Snowbird Creek and Neighboring Creeks

David,
