Hello gang. Yes, this should be in another forum I know, but since I consider myself a Smokies fisherman I thought I would give everyone a peak at some action from Saturday.

I wasn't that thrilled with trying the dropper but it works if you want to catch (a lot) more fish!
The downside is you naturally have more tangles and snags. Shorter casts and a 7.5 foot leader...

Funny you mention the dropper rig - I was in cimarron canyon nm yesterday and I started using the dropper rig and caught 8 browns - only one of which took the dry.

Will trout still take a dry fly that turns into a wet fly?
Someone told me that the trout won't usually take a dry fly that's wet, and is below the surface. I'm a novice fisherman so excuse this if it's a dumb question.
Do trout bite a dry fly that you...

Cherokee national forest fishing?
I live in TX, but you don't seem to hear much about fishing in the Cherokee national forest. Is it comparable to the national park? Better? Worse? Differences?

Never considered that!
Interesting! So one of the reasons I'm stuck with the fingerlings is that I'm too lazy to throw anything out there except a #14 tan elk hair caddis?
