I called the CNF Watauga offie and apparently all of the NF campgrounds closed in mid-October (seems very early to me...). I may have to try Cherokee Trails.

I'm heading up to the South Holston tailwater next weekend and was wondering where the closest campground to the river is? I will probably be solo with a small tent (i.e. no need for electricity)....
