One generator would not be a problem at all, even two would not be dangerous assuming you aren't right next to the dam.
Even on zero generators floating the river is not an issue, it is deeper...

Someone told me that flouro sinking is not a bad thing for dries because it wont cast a shadow under the water. Mono floating on top casts a big shadow and can spook fish in slower glassy pools.

an eighteen inch brown is not six pounds, and 16-22 inch fish would weigh no where near 6-9 pounds. I believe the length of the fish but the weight sounds fishy. how are you getting the weights?????
