I'm pretty sure there is another ramp downstream from there a few miles or so, TWRA has great info on their website with pics and maps to help out as well as float distances.

Going out on a limb here, but I'd be willing to bet the same flies that catch smallmouth, spotted, largemouth, coosa, and shoal bass will work just fine.

That has nothing to do with it, once the lake tops 1020 it is moving into dangerous ground and is technically at flood stage. TVA set those parameters years ago and they will usually always cut it...

Having eaten sulphurs I will respectfully disagree with the brown trout, they taste like a$$ and are bitter.

It is a testament to that river that even sporadic hatches occur...

TVA is responsible for flood control and power generation. They try and help the fishery for PR reasons alone.

We are lucky TVA is willing to try and keep our rivers in the best condition...
