Large streamer fishing also sometimes takes a different action rod. Streamer fishing I use a faster rod and really concentrate on line control. Lots of false casting with streamers only complicates...

So with that being said what is the typical size and length of your dropper line? I mostly use about 12" to 18" 5x fluorocarbon for the dropper. Any thoughts?

Yes I have used DT for the same reasons many times I was just wondering if he liked the more subtlenes of the fly or if he never done heavy nymphing etc.

I am going to start using a 9' rod that I just aquired but the 9'6" was not as bad as I thought for the mountains. It's primarily my tail water or western rod.

Well I bit the bullet today and bought the 4 wt rod. I bought a Winston b3ls 9' 4wt and coupled it with a Abel 4n with a WF 4 rio gold line. I am going to use this as my smoky Mnt trout set up....
