Your best bet near Elijay would be to head about 20-25 miles up the road and hit up the Toccoa River. There is public access on the tailwater of Lake Blue Ridge or the DH section above...

I have both Mr. Matthews' and Mr. Parks' books. Both are quaility reads, but I prefer the detail in Mr. Parks' book a little better.
