Sir, you could also fish at the Chimneys Picnic area which around 5 miles up Hwy. 441 inside the park or go over to Cosby Creek off of Hwy. 321!

Anywhere you can get in is decent! Also go below the entrance road and fish below the bridge area. Around the horse camp can also be real productive. Orange is a good color at this time of the season!

I also think you should try Laurel Fork! You can park at the campground and start fishing moving upstream. These are almost all brown trout from thai point up and will grab anything thing.

Noland and Deep Creek

Noland fishes fair for Bows from the embayment upstream as it has some nice pools in the lower sections down towards Fontana. Deep Creek in decent from the campground as far up as you want to go!...

I agree that most sticks will handle lines either way. Unless something has been added Orvis used to be the only rod that was lined for its true weight.

I normally have some action up on Greenbriar towards years end if I am in the area. Also you sometimes can raise a trout up around the Chimneys picnic area. Both are close to town.
