As you know most of the pre 1950's production rods were held together with hide glues ( horse glue) , and the finishes were not much better (quality wise) Now in the age of modern era glues...

The Obey is a good tailwater. I have noticed that the fly selection is more narrow than most tailwaters in TN. Stick to small midge imitations and you should do fine.
