I wouldn't turn a blind eye, I would paddle over and get the struggling fish, thump it on the head, and thrown it on ice. Unless it is in the slot of course

It doesn't have a bad reputation overall but a lot of folks don't like the "holier than thou" elitist attitude that some fly fishermen have so they just stick to bait chunkin or golf

I have never trout fished around Bryson city but you could take the kayak out on Fontana lake early and late in the day (or in the middle of the night for that matter) and catch nice bass on topwater

I have found the same to be true in bass fishing lakes and rivers, I always use purple or black in muddy conditions because I can see it better when I drop it in the water. Not sure if that is also...
