Much fatter than an inch worm, I don't remember a horn, legs sort of like the top pic, but not furry. Segmented, I believe.

When I started trout fishing as a teen-ager, we fished Tellico and Citico all the time and in the summer would shake sourwood trees for the worms that would fall off the leaves. They were deadly on...

Biggest fish I've caught in the park was on a grasshopper. Ants are deadly in the summer, but I can't see them very well anymore, even with a hi-vis green or orange spot.
