Default Question

Over the weekend I was asked about an Adams Variant. Well my thoughts and explanation was not even close to what it is. I Googled and found a pattern for it and tied a few. The first few were not so great but they'll fish.

Here is my question for those that knew Fred Hall or are familiar with the pattern. Why did he call it an Adams Variant because the only that resembles the Adams is the grizzle wing tips.

The pattern I used was tied by Bruce Harang.

Well, it looks as if Mr. Harang posted an incomplete pattern. He left out the fact that the front hackle includes both a brown and grizzle. I can now see the similarities.
