Fishes quite well under the dropper
Usually start with 18-24 inches depending on stream size, then it gets shorter as the day goes on and I break.
I have a beaded and leaded version, but would save that for the winter months when you have to be on the bottom.
I believe Crockett fishes a combo line with a weighted and prefered that.
I also now tend to prefer non bead head tellico nymphs, pheasant tail, and prince nymphs so it may well just be whether your a bead head or not
