I have 3 patterns that can be adapted to mimic a cricket.
Most durable is "sams one bug" in black or brown foam. we talked about this fly a lot last summer on here Wade Blevin's dad designed this fly.
Next would be a small stealth bomber. I like a size 8 hook. black or brown.
I've added a bright spot/flag of foam to the top of this fly to be able to see it.
Last and the most difficult to tie ,but pretty realistic in black is a turk's tarantula.
great as a caddis, hopper or cricket. this one is a yellow hopper
