I had lunch Thursday with Greg Ward in Chinese dive in Sevierville that wafted with the aroma of sauté dog. Any who, he told me about him releasing a few thousand big trout in Gatlinburg prior his annual tournament there last weekend. He told me that the winning weight of the two-day event was over 50 pounds of trout. I suspect that the lovely creature you fried up golden brown was one of his releases.
Greg will be launching his UT Field School in the GSMNP next month. I wish him well in that new chapter of this fly fishing career.
