Here is my two cents: I started out with a Columbia 22 pocket vest, and used for a while. Good quality, but hot in summer, now use it for throwing in kayak or bank fishing. I than used a Fishpond chestpak that I really liked for about six months. Not waterproof, not sure what really is with a good dunking, but the problem I found is as I started accquiring more stuff, the pack filled and soon I had to look around it to see my feet or water right in front of me. I got the Orvis slingpack about $100 three months ago, and love it so far. quality seems high, love the zippers and has more than enough room for a day on the water. Slides out of way when casting, walking or bringing a fish to hand, so far my best choice of packs yet. Hope this helps and good luck with it!
