Those are great flies Byron. I've caught a few carp on those rubber legged dragons also. A multi species fly.


I've been fishing a lot of hoppers lately now that we are into the dog days of summer and the fields along the banks have high grass growing in them.

This is a version of the "Improved Thunder Thighs Hopper". I tied most of my first ones last summer with only flexy floss for the legs, but feel they needed more movement on the water, so I switched back to round rubber legs on the front. My next batch will have a mono loop on the rear to attach a dropper or tandem dry fly. I do this a lot on big smallmouth poppers. makes it easier to fish multi rigs instead of tying onto the hook shank.
