I honestly believe most of the time stealth and a good presentation at the proper depth is more important than the particular pattern. i do like terrestrials until winter really sets in. Their isn't much hatching this time of year. I also down size my dry flies and nymphs this time of yea. It seems to help with the low clear water conditions you are faced with most of the time. Also with most aquatic insects are on a yearly cycle, The nymphs that were laid this spring and summer are still small and growing at this stage in their life cycle.
