Those winter trout can be a lot of fun... I always have good luck throwing soft hackles for them either dead drifted, stripped or swung. They also seem to like bigger copper john and hares ear nymphs in #12,#14. Of course woolly buggers also work on them as well. I catch as many as I can right after a stocking and will release every one to try and educate them before they run into that suspicious looking piece of corn. That way hopefully I get to catch them again and again well into the spring...
