I was one of the group that went fishing with LW on the Wautauga and SoHo. If you ever get a chance to fish with LW, let him cook you a trout with potatoes and roasted onion. mmm....mmmm good

Feed him Bourbon and coke in just the right proportion and he becomes a veritable frugal gourmet on the stream.


The Wautauga was a great stream. From my standpoint, small bead head flies were the ticket. The fish I caught on the surface were caught mainly after the dry got dunked just under the surface. I did learn that throwing a streamer on when nymph and dry flyfishing is slow is a good move. A gray ghost and a mickey finn performed well.
