Default Re: Traditional Smoky Mtn patterns

Dawgvet, I know Roger Lowe and he is one of the best fly tiers around. I also have his book. You cant go wrong with an Adams and Thunderheads. I also carry Tellicos and George nymphs. They are probably the most effective local nymph patterns used. The Yallerhammer and Smoky Mtn. crow fly work well at times also. Roger probably knows the NC side of the Smokies better than anyone. If you ever visit Waynesville, NC, He is a good source for info and he ties most of the flies he sales.
