Default Re: Stocking schedule

I pretty sure TWRA still stocks all tributaries year round however it goes unchecked as far as on paper. From Oct till the first of Feb maybe March I'd have to look. I think this is to allow the normal stocking truck follow ers to stay at home with there can of worms! TWRA also supposably only stocks in the weatherable seasons when there are alot more people on the water! High traffic times so to speak! And throughing a truck full of fish into a cold stream with no one throughing trout food to them every morning and afternoon would be detrimental to the stocked fish probably resulting in a bunch of dead fish downstream! In other words it doesn't give the stocked fish adequate time to adjust to finding food on there own especially in cold water when there motabolism had slowed down.

Log on to the TWRA website there should be more information regarding this matter. If it's not posted there, go get a copy of the paperback fishing regulations I'm almost positive there is a small blip on this matter!

Hope this helps!
