We have one, but I don't think my wife would approve of me taking our 5 wk old to the river. I saw a fisherman on the SoHo last year, the week of Christmas, with a toddler on his back. Temp was in the low 30's and the pulse was just starting to come down. Looked a little crazy to me.
Rock snot + high water + cold temps + baby = disaster
