I fished in May of 2004 with Andrew Ryan, at the flyfishingireland site kytroutman linked to. He's got leases on some beautiful water, populated with gorgeous native browns. The fishing was actually a little on the slow side - the spring hatches hadn't really kicked in yet - but the weather was great, and the trip was a real treat.

From there we went to the Blackwater Lodge for Atlantic Salmon on the Blackwater River. (Didn't catch any.) The proprietors are Ian and Glenda Powell. We enjoyed having Ian as our guide, but one of the highlights was a speycasting lesson from Glenda the afternoon we got there. Not that she succeeded at turning me into a speycaster, but she's such a terrific caster herself that it's just fun to watch what she can do with a rod.
