Brett it is only gel-coat. Try running it 60 times a year like I used to do, and some on this forum do now. I don't even remember what gel coat looks like on the bottom of a boat. I also promise that if you think that run is bad, strap on some of the other rivers in this part of the state. Some take soccer ball sized chunks and leave holes in boats.
The mark of a good drift boat is chewed up chines and jagged fiberglass. In the words of a good friend of mine, "You can tell alot about the boys in the boat, by the bottom of their boat."
Forget about it, and I wouldn't worry much until you can see light shining through the chine.
