Despite tornadoes ripping our community apart, despite rain and heavy generation, the Nabours And Friends For Project Healing Waters event went very well.
I think we had 32 registered attendees. Great food, great door prizes and auction. Jack made furled leaders for us all day. Warren tied flies and let others tie as well while he coached over their shoulder.
Grumpy shared some casting tips and there was even a game of cornhole.
Great musicians, including Sam Tate, Pete Huttlinger, Ryan Murpey, Don King and Greg Sterling.
Chef Mike smoked up a bunch of great eats. He spent all night and day smoking the meats and getting things ready. Huge deal.
Due to weather etc, only one of the vets, Billy Davis, that John Bass of PHW arranged to be with us was able to make it but he had a great time and caught a nice brownie as well. David Perry/lukewarmwater took him on a float. Details at David's blog : http://southeasternfly.blogspot.com/...aney-fork.html
Thank you all that participated and supported in other ways just like letting us publicize the event here.
I'm headed back to Montana for the summer soon, so won't be able to attend Troutfest, but I did buy a Troutfest cap and t-shirt in support of your event. I wish you all the best in your efforts!!
