Like troutman said, you probably have a newer version of reel. The old ones clearly says: Made in U.S.A. As for the rod. The new ones had a sticker on the reel seat saying made in China. Your's may well be of U.S. origin. In either case it's a fairly new rod. I have one myself and they are nice for nymphing. If I'm not mistaken they have polyester blend in the blank.
