I've heard you need the corded foot pedal if something happens to your wireless remote system and it does happen. We had a wireless unit go out in the shallow water on the backside of St. Vincent Island, Florida. We had to motor through a maze of oyster beds and tore up a prop. Those corded foot controls are cheap insurance that go for about the same price as an outboard prop at least for my motor. And, you can continue to fish which is of most importance. I'm getting the Riptide 55 with a 48" shaft. You really got the shaft at 60".
