I'm sorry, it was a lame attempt on my part to answer your question on how much water it takes to dilute the acid. What i should have added... long as there is a sorce of pyrite the water adds to the problem. Pyrite exposed to the atmosphere during mining and excavation reacts with oxygen and water to form sulfate resulting in acid ....
