I almost took that exact same job with the Airforce and then decided to go infantry at the last minute (I think I had a virus). Sorry to hear about your mother. The good news is that cancer survival rates are very good these days for most cancers. Sounds like you are in a nice area. I bet there are some nice places to fish around that area.
