I think the Sage 389 LL was one of the best light line rods ever made, I used to fish it on the Clinch every time.

I also liked the SP's, and XP's in lighter weights. However, the TXL (I think) or whatever the new lightweight rods are, they are not for me. They have zero backbone, and are just too "whippy" for my tastes.

If you are looking for a great small stream rod, the 7' 11" 4wt. LL is the best they ever made IMO. Absolutely a dream to fish.
