    Default Lynn Camp 4/19/08

The day started off with lots of rain so I stopped by LRO this morning to wait out the showers and talk to several others hanging out. I had thought about going to Meigs creek but changed my mind and headed up Lynn Camp. I ran into IJSouth and his girls at the trailhead, so I walked up the trail aways with them. They stopped to fish, and I continued on up another mile or so to the panther creek trail that cuts over to Jakes creek at mile 2.3. The water is perfect and the bows are slamming dries. It was a 20+ fish day in the 3 hours of fishing before hiking back. Great place to go for lots of action but don't count on catching any large ones.

    Lynn camp today

Used a little 7ft 3wt glass rod today made for dry flies and small streams.

Lots and lots of little bows

Sounds like a great day, Troutman. From those of us who didn't make it up there this weekend, glad you could catch a few for us.

Ian, how was the day for you and your troup?

They ate a #14 Para Adams as if they hadn't eaten all winter!
This was probably the biggest fish of the day. He must have good genetics, having survived the drought last year and several battle scars on his back.

Hey Troutman...great to meet ya. We should have kept walking with you - as it turned out, the section we fished was "used" water ... a fellow was fishing just above us. I only had one hit, and my oldest had 2 - nothing close to actually getting one to hand. We decided to hike back down and drive over the mountains to Straight Fork. We caught a couple, but overall it was dead there, too. Lots of flies hatching, but no rises, and no luck on nymphs, either. We made up for it today - went to Cosby and got about 30, including a few really nice fish. I'll post a report later, when I'm fully conscious.
