    Default Hiwassee fishing in August

hey guys and gals, I am thinking about a trip to the Hiwassee in mid-August. Driving from near Louisville KY is it worth the trip or should I wait for Fall?

I have fished there once but it was several years ago and in early June.

Any info would be greatly apprecaited.

Hiwassee is fishing good this year from what I hear. Water temps can be on the high side in August and you have the recreational release schedules to deal with. If you are floating it's great but if you are wading you really have limited access after 11 Am when they crank up the generators. I would check this site for more info. www.hiwassee.net

Thanks for the info. The last time I fished it was from a drift boat with a guide named C.J. who I believe is now a conservation officer.
