    Gerry,
The little guy in the photo is my youngest son Nolan. He follows me like a golden retriever. My oldest one likes to "help Daddy with hooks"
I did try something fun with him the other night. I sat down at my desk with him in my lap and opened all the drawers with feather and furs. I told him to pick out 2 or 3 materials to build a fly. It was really fun to see a 3 yr old get serious about his selections and then the smiles that followed as I tried to make it look good. Hopefully he will remember those times like I do and maybe he will find a love for tying flies.

This is my fly tying desk equipped with a laptop for looking up those new patterns and listening to the askaboutflyfishing podcasts; a dvd player for watching the Trout/ Fish Bum DVD's and Ian Rutter's DVD's on the Smokies; one of the best books on fly tying (great photos) Barr Flies; and of course the vise and material that I have hoarded from my dad for the past year.
In the upper left corner of my desk you may see a jar with a preserved Needle fish in it.

This is my home office. I actually have to work from this desk so organization and portability were important. My Dad and I put the tying station together over last Christmas vacation.

EDIT: As you can see above, my fly tying station took up half of my office desk and it wasn't conducive to getting actual "work" done. I would find myself checking my work email at 7:30am and 9 hours later having a pile of flies tied and no work done.

So ... I brought up an oak desk and bookshelf that my wife's dad had made for her for college. I am ordering some new hardware (trout knobs) for the drawer and I will be building an oak tool organizer for the desktop.

This is my space for fly tying out in our den or the "fishing" room as my wife calls it!
I keep materials in plastic craft organizers and store them in the bottom drawers.

If you look closely at Troutman's vise you can see the fly that he actually uses to catch all his fish.

Ha Ha, yep, that one of my "smiling shad" series flies!

actually that is just a poor attempt at a grey back puglisi. Tied correctly, they are great flies.

here's mine, put this together a few months ago. I lucked out and found this oak desk for $20 on craigslist. the drawers on top I found on sale at officemax. they're actually made of strong cardboard wrapped in brown paper. they hold materials wonderfully. stainless steel architect's lamp was only $12 at office depot. nice place to tie for very cheap.
