    Default Replacing reel seat?

I just bought a new 8'6" 4 wt Scott A3 rod, and it is a beautiful rod, but the reel seat is a blue woven graphite that I am not particularly fond of. My question is: is it possible to replace the reel seat (I was thinking of burled spalted maple)? I have no experience with rod building so I would have to have someone do this for me if it is at all possible, so then my next question is: who much would something like this cost?

    Default Reel seat replacement

It is possible to change out the reel seat but if you have a warranty with this rod I would first check to see if Scott will void it if you have it altered. I have changed out reel seats and it is a lengthy and laborious task on certain types of materials. There are alternative ways of changing the graphite to wood as well and may be a little less costly to have done, sometimes.
If you would like to discuss this further let me know, if you haven't had this done already.

Yes, I am very interested in learning about others options, I just wasn't aware that there were any.

If you would like to talk more on this I am available. I am giving a class this week on rod building but can take time out to answer any questions you may have. Sorry about the long delay in replying but I've been quite busy with classes, building and going to rod and sport shows. Visit my blog at bonarcustomflyrods.blogspot.com for more info on contacting me.
