Smile Clinch River: Report (Sat. May 2)

The fishing was excellent today and I was very surprised to see that most of the fishermen stayed at home. The rain ended and there was minimal wind. We caught about 30 fish and about 3-4 decent sized fish...

Also, I found something in the Peach Orchard parking lot if someone lost something. Please let me know what you lost and I will mail it to you...

I might have to start fishing the Clinch a little more this year just for something different. Glad to hear it is continuing to fish well...

nice fish. My wife and I fished the jail section Saturday and caught a pretty good sulphur hatch. She went with the intention of reading while I fished but I talked her into fishing and she caught a really nice 14" rainbow.

-Sweet! I did not see the Sulphur Hatch that well up around the I-75 Bridge. The water was cloudy however on the creek side and still very cold up on this end of the river!

Be careful down at the jail area! I think that is the most dangerous part of the Clinch besides stepping off one of the 10-15 foot drops/shoals below the I-75 Bridge...Lot of sloping, slick rocks and the current is very misleading in that area!
