    Default any updated advise?

It's almost here!! We will be out next week 14-18. Does anyone have any last minute pointers?? This seems to be a transition time of year, so I want to make sure I'm doing things right! Any new advise would be appreciated. Can't wait to get out there, catching any fish would be icing on the cake!!

I would watch the fishing rep[ort daily for any changes that are reported. My experience shows the report has been accurate and productive.

I'm FAR from certain about this, BUT from what I understand, this time of year, the wind picks up and blows a lot of terrestrials out of the trees and bushes and onto the water. You may want to stop by LRO and pick up some beetles, hoppers, ants etc. I would ask to sure that this is correct though. And, as stated earlier, check the fishing report daily to see what they are generally biting.

Ditto the fishing report. Also note on the left side of the report toward the bottom is a link to suggested flies that is regularly updated.

    flyguys,
I took my kids fishing on Walker Camp Prong, starting at the Chimneys Trailhead on Friday. I was catching bows fairly regularly on an Orange Palmer and switched to a Stimulator which also got some action. My son picked up some flies at LRO before going up. He started with a Stimulator, switched to the Orange Palmer at my suggestion and had very little luck with either.

Then he tied on what I think was a #12 Smokey Mountain Trude, a big old ugly looking thing that no self-respecting fish would take. Right? Wrong! The brookies were eating it up! In the same stretch of river I caught 8 bows and he caught 8, almost all brookies and almost all on that big old ugly. Just shows to go, you never know.

Bottom line: go fishing, throw out something buggy looking and you should be catching fish. BTW, the action picked up considerably in the afternoon after a slow start in the late morning so don't get discouraged if you experience the same. Also, you should see some really nice fall colors popping out, especially in the upper elevations. Below is a shot down WCP (colors seemed to be brightest along the river).

Here's my lovely daughter adding some color of her own.

    I believe I used a size 14 for those...
