Wow,I thought a Parachute Adams was my favorite because I have caught more on it than anything else....seems like most others feel the same way.
Tellico nymph is my second choice.

    Default Husky xCaddis

It really isn't an xCaddis, at all. Its more of a combination fly. Its a CHC Caddis tied with Bleached Deer Hair for a wing (instead of Caribou) and Husky underfur for the body, tied kinda scraggly (flies that are beat-up seem to catch more flies than perfectly tied ones). Here is a pic:

I had been trying to tie a fly that covered a lot of situations and tweaked Bruce Matthews flies. I really like the fly because it rides low in the water with the body actually in the film (and somewhat lower) so it can look like an emerger, cripple or an egg layer. The bleached deer hair makes it much more visible. I also added some Krystal Flash to make it more visible to the fish.

I had tied them in grey, yellow and olive (TroutDude blend - but thats another story...), and done pretty well with the pattern. But after brushing and vaccuuming up tons of shedding dog hair from my Husky each year, I decided to try and put it to good use. The hair that is shed is not too bad to dub with a little bit of dubbing wax. Its somewhat of a lt grey/lt cahill mix and when its wet has lots of depth of color. I managed to catch more browns this year with it than any other fly...

And here is the source (she's already working up some on her back leg...):

That was way more than you wanted to know......

Beautiful dog, since I'm just starting to try to tie flies,a friend asked me if anyone ever used dog or cat hair,I told her I had no idea...now I know.
She had said that she had plenty of different cat and dog hair (she's a pet lover) if I ever needed any...I don't own either.

PeteCz, if the Husky caddis is made from Husky hair I do not even want to know about Troutdude flies. Nice flies by the way. regards, Silvercreek

Believe me, guys, the Husky xCaddis works. Pete and I have gone fishing a couple of times where he caught twice as many trout as I did with these gems.

OK, he could have caught twice as many as me with Jeff's corn immitation, but they really do work. I've gotten a couple of these from Pete and they are killers.

    Pete,

We vacuum up wads of hair every week from our yellow cat. Want some? I know you said your Husky had quit shedding for the winter.
