Default Little River & WPLP 4-21-10

Headed up to Elkmont for my weekly weekday fishing excursion. Decided I would start with an Adams and a BHPT and never changed flies.

I didn't think that the dry would get much action. Turns out that it didn't. Caught three bows on the Adams but the nymph was absolutely on fire.

First cast and the BHPT brought in a good little rainbow. After the first fish the nymph brought about twenty more bows and one brown to hand. Fished Little River for about 3.5 hours and since I almost had a slam the only thing to do was to decide where to go for the brookie. Thought that WPLP would be the easiest way. Got out of the truck and it was 50. Not a single brookie but did manage about four more bows.

Also got to see my first bear of 2010. I didn't take a picture of him or her because he was be hounded by about 150 people. 150 is not an exaggeration.

Hand was dunked before touching any fish.

Great pictures and nice fish as usual Grouseman.
Glad you've been able to make the transition from a successful Grouse season into an even better spring trout season.

Haven't gotten a spec in WPLP in quite a while. Pretty much have to go up Road Prong or further up Walker Camp Prong. I tried the same tactic one day after a brown and a bow from LR with the same (lack of) success. The only thing I caught was a speeding ticket heading back towards Sugarlands.

Nicely done Grouseman. Looks like a very successful day in the park. I like the color detail on the Tail of the Brown.
