    Default chimneys ?

After the third bridge when the stream gets tight should I keep going? Is it fishable?

I start fishing at the third bridge. That's when you really start catching just specs.

I have fished all the way to the 5th bridge. 3-5 is my favorite place to fish so far.

There are a couple fall climbs though, so watch it when the water is high.

SmokeyStreams.com has a good waterproof map of the area. The Upper West Prong and Tributaries has a detail of the area and footbridges. Byron has the maps available at LRO in Townsend.

Ah, thanks...wasn't certain if it was fishable. Lots of rodo. It looked like it was wade only though since the trail is so high above it.

definitely is wade only in my opinion. You won't be getting off the stream til right before bridge 4. The first access point to the trail is just before the next bridge. Usually takes me 2-3 hours of 2 casts per pool fishing. The stream splits a few times too.

Thanks for mentioning, eaze53! It's actually SmokyStreams.com although SmokEy is a very common spelling, as in the case of the bear who keeps tabs on our campfires and a certain blue tick 'coon hound known to frequent college football games. In the case of the song made famous by Burl Ives, sometimes the lyrics have smokey and sometimes smoky.

    Thanks again.

Sorry Joefred, never have been able to get that "Smoky" thing fixed in my head. Regardless, hope you are doing well with the maps.

    BRF,
If you'll search it there were some recent threads this year dealing with access to the trail in this area. I fished 3rd to 4th in June and July and did really well with the specks but it's definately a hike. As mentioned the falls are a climb and then there were a couple huge deadfalls on the creek last time I was up there. I didn't know about the access the first time so I backtracked all the way down but there are a couple of "deer paths" to get back on the trail.
