    Default Another River

Just adding a bit more detail to this...signing and then varnishing and it's done. Latest painting:

There has just GOT to be a big ole brook trout in that upstream bend. I know there is. I can smell him!

Looking good. You are really churning them out.

I went to visit my in-laws over the weekend and my mother in law is an oil painter. She's been doing it for a while and does some really nice looking stuff. Stuff that I would atleast be proud to call my own. We had a good talk.

Yeah, it's a ton of fun. I've got another I'm finishing up soon. I may just stick all future paintings in this thread. My wife said she would buy this one (in theory). I guess that's a pretty good seal of approval You should post some pics of your mother-in-laws paintings.

I'm thinking for next year's Christmas gift to her I am going to make her some nice frames since she just hangs the canvas on the wall. She was talking about how expesnive it is to get them framed so I figure I should be able to make some nice little frames for her paintings. Next time I'm up there I'll try and remember to take some pictures. She said she used to only do landscapes and was always afraid of animals and portraits. One of her new ones was two wood ducks and the other one had an Elk bugling up on a cliff. I thought they were great.

Ah yes...animals aren't too bad, but people's faces are difficult. I would love to see her work. I figure once I get enough decent work done I will contact a few galleries but it will be a while before that happens.

Did this one after my last trip to the Elk. It looks a bit better in person. Need to do something with the tree on the far side...needs a shadow or just needs to be taken out...ah well.
