Default Made a great tying investment?

I noticed that my eyes weren't holding up as long as I'd like while tying. Decided that the wife was going to get me a "Renzetti Visual Enhancement Backdrop" plate for Valentine's Day. I have not had the chance to tie one with it yet but I believe that it will be a big help. I've also been eating lots and lots of carrots.

I have had one for several years and I can tell a big difference when I go somewhere else to tie and don't have it.

I've got a set of cheap drug store glasses that work wonders even though I use a lighted magnifier. I, also, found cleaning up the clutter on my desk helps (:>).

I think a good backdrop is great for tying intricate flies. However; my best tip for fly tying is some relaxing music. I find the quietness of tying flies irritating at times for some reason. Also, keep your tying area organized and neat helps. I am just lousy at it.

Does it only hook on to a Renzetti vise?

A white paper plate will work, too.

Don't know Tim. The Renzetti is the only on I'm familiar with.

I like owl's idea of a paper plate. I'm cheap!
